ILAC Document Templates for ISO/IEC 17025 (Global MRA)

Documents for labs whose reports must carry ILAC MRA recognition — without the consultant retainer.

ILAC and the standard

ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) is not an accreditation body — it is the global Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) that makes your accreditation portable across borders. Your national body (CNAS, A2LA, UKAS, NVLAP, NATA, SINGLAS, NABL and others) assesses you against ISO/IEC 17025:2017; ILAC MRA signatory status is what lets customers and regulators in other countries accept your reports.

For laboratories, the ILAC documents that matter most are the P-series policies: ILAC P8 (use of the ILAC MRA mark and combined marks on reports), ILAC R7 (joint use of accreditation symbols with other bodies), ILAC P9 (proficiency testing policy and frequencies), and ILAC P10 (metrological traceability policy). Your accreditation body enforces these through its own criteria, so your management system must show how reports, marks and PT results are controlled.

The core document set

  • Quality Manual — policy, scope, and the documented structure of your ISO/IEC 17025 system.
  • Report & Mark Control Procedure — how the ILAC MRA symbol and your body's mark are applied, and when they must be withheld (suspension, out-of-scope work, endorsed vs non-endorsed results).
  • Proficiency Testing Plan — participation mapped to ILAC P9 frequencies and your body's PT policy.
  • Traceability Procedure — metrological traceability statements consistent with ILAC P10.
  • Uncertainty of Measurement — a GUM or Monte Carlo budget per measurand, supporting decision-rule statements on reports.

How LabKitPro helps

Instead of retrofitting a generic template by hand, set your context once — Country, Accreditation body, lab type, stage — and every generated document carries that context, including mark-usage clauses derived from your body's ILAC MRA obligations. Run a free 60-second diagnosis to see your gap heat-map before you write anything.

Frequently asked

Do I need separate ILAC documents? Usually no — you need the ILAC obligations woven into your 17025 documents (report control, PT plan, traceability). Assessors look for the linkage, not a separate manual.

Is the free tier useful? Yes — Forms and Records are free forever, watermark-free, and downloadable. Pay only when you export a full, context-aware document.
